Settled in Montana

We are settled in Maxville, Montana for a month.  Good friends are letting us set up in their large yard with all the necessary hose attachments that we need.

A neighbor dog seems to have adopted us.  Sitka is one of the largest dogs I have seen.  His head is huge.  But he kind of hangs around and sleeps under the trailer at night.

The Trout has been teaching him a few tricks, such as knowing which wines to search for when out and about.

We have taken on another challenge and it seems to be working.  We both are sleeping much better than we have in a long time.  Our little RV is comfortable and other than the fact that we have to drive 4 miles to get cell phone connection, we do have excellent computer connections.

No TV, but haven't really missed it.  Since we left for France in May, have not watched more than a couple of hours of television.  It is refreshing.  Books are making up for that kind of entertainment.

It does remind you of the Klampetts, doesn't it?

But the no one can tell me this is not a good thing.  The creeks and rivers have been very high in Montana and there has been some flooding, but it still looks very beautiful.  Montana, just the way we like it.

  1. Love your new friend Susan. It's nice to be "adopted" by a cute young man.

Montana is one of the prettiest places in the world. So peaceful and so obvious why they call it big sky country.

  2. Sound like a great place to relax. My son used to have a dog that look just like that; a malamute; is that is?
No tv, the computer works; that's a good thing. But can you cook?

  3. I could happily adopt a friend like that he is lovely. That trailer is quite something, I think I could enjoy a holiday in that and especially with that view. Diane

  4. Looks like heaven to me - Clampets or not!

  5. Breathtaking!!! Sleeping well is one of the greatest blessings we can enjoy, IMHO. Sitka will be a sommelier before the month is past! ;)

We just bought a little weekender near here and time without the TV is a good thing.

  6. So beautiful. I think your travels in France and other places in Europe, winter home in Florida and time in the Big Sky Country is just ideal!

after seeing those pictures and the one of Dale and his new furry friend, I think God put you in the right spot. I would love to join you. can I sleep under the trailer with the dog? You know I love dogs so it would not be a problem. Seriously, great pictures. Just beautiful. I am so happy to see Dale taking time to read to the dog. Has he learned anyting yet(the dog)?
happy trails --looking forward to our reunion in august.

  8. You Madame, (and Trout of course), know how to live! I love reading about your adventures and enjoying your posts packed with joie de vivre!

  9. It's gorgeous there. Enjoy your summer in Montana.

  10. What a wonderful way to spend the summer, Susan. I know you'll have a marvelous time. The RV looks quite comfortable. Is this your first trip to Montana in the trailer? Have a great day. Blessings...Mary

  11. Susan, now that is the life! Look at that view (and she says, "I am looking at it"). Soon, we may join you, that is if we can ever get MrP to finally retire...
