The time is coming quickly

An old photo postcard from 1910, wishing old fashioned Christmas greetings to all.

My poinsettias from last year now growing outside. I have two more to add to the grouping after Christmas.

  1. Thank you for your very sweet comment. I just subscribed to your RSS feed, because I didn't fully realize how much German food you make! You'll appreciate that this weekend I made a Zwiebel Rostbraten mit kartofel kloesse and thawed some of my German red cabbage to go with it. It was fantastic.
I have killed every poinsettia I've ever had-- thought I tried to take care of it! Loved the old postcard, too. See you in Blogosphere!

  2. Susan, to prepare our hearts for the up coming holiday; we must cultivate the spirit of Christmas past and remember all the wonderful old stories. Great old card and your poinsettias look beautiful, too.

Many thanks & glad tidings to you & the Trout!

  3. I never thought about planting the poinsettias outside, but not sure they would survive here in Oregon.

  4. You can grow Poinsettias outside in Florida! They can't make it here, one freeze and they are goners. I have kept them alive for a long time inside though.

    Your post card is adorable.

  5. I can't keep my poinsettias alive much past June. I've never been able to get 2 seasons of bloom from them, so I am envious. I love the card. Have a great day.

  6. I love the old card. I've never been very lucky with keeping the poinsettias going, even when we lived in the tropics. I've seen them grow into trees however. You must have a very green thumb.

  7. I can't imagine poinsettias growing outside. Mine croak if they are in a draft inside. Love the vintage card, Susan.

  10. Living in New York makes poinsettias growing outside seem spectacular or maybe it's spectacular no matter where you live.

  11. Like the 1910 card. Schnitzel takes me back to our visits to Germany in the past.
Transparencies - you can buy a small scanner just for thepurpose of scanning transparencies and negatives into computer. It scans them as photos. costs about £100 sterling.
    Thanks for visit.

  13. I've tried to keep those crazy things going in doors and have never had any success at getting them to re bloom.
