Montana, we are coming back!!

These are views of one of our favorite places, Montana. Only 3000 miles from home, but somehow, every year, we manage to drive it again and spend the summer in this indescribable wilderness.

Yes, he was just beside our car and we were interrupting him. Actually, this is a cub. I suppose he is much larger this year.

And here is my Trout. He has loved Montana since his first visit almost 30 years. When he is here, he is relaxed, happy, and fishing all the time. He catches the trout, kisses them (well, some of them) and releases them back into the wild to catch again next year.
I will be interrupting my blogging until we arrive at our destination at the end of the month. We will be in Montana until mid October, so I know there will be lots of new things to let you know about while out there.

  3. Will you drive or fly? If driving through Tx, please stop one way or the other. I will be at Kristen's July 7-17; otherwise here. Have a cool summer!

  4. I wish I could fish with Trout and learn how to catch and release. I have the equipment just not the skill. Maybe we should meet you in Montana sometime and have a lesson or two.

  5. My husband has just retired and I'm looking forward to some driving adventures. I'm anxious to know how you drive 3000 miles!!! I'd do it in a heartbeat (I actually travel to Virginia, alone, ever October--a distance of only 750 miles) but I've never driven long distances with anyone else in the car--including my husband. Suggestions?

    Save travel.

    Best,
    Bonnie

  6. Susan, enjoy the journey to Montana... beautiful country, and should you want to venture a little further west, let us know. We have a few good bottles of wine cellared ;) And because of our current workload, I may be taking some time off too, blogging that is. The garden demands as does my family and our friends this time of year! ;)

  7. How wonderful! When you spend that long in a place you really get to know it well, and it becomes part of you. It should be cooler, too!

  22. Susan,
I was wondering when you were going to Montana. So now you're on your way. Have a wonderful summer. I'll be looking forward to more pictures of big sky country.

We've only been out west once and we flew. Don't know if I am up for that drive or not. Take care. We'll be here when you and the Trout get settled in.
