Kennedy Space Center

Our daughter and family are visiting us this week so yesterday we spent the day at the Kennedy Space Center. It was the first trip for The Trout and I and we were so impressed, that we went back to get a year's pass.

The astronaut speaker for the day was Fred Gregory. He graduated from the Air Force Academy the year after my brother. There was just too much to see and the museum could have used an entire day. We will go back, hopefully for a launch. Joshua and Rachel enjoyed it also.

Then a quick run to Cocoa Beach. We found no "genie in a bottle," but the kids enjoyed their first encounter with the ocean and the Trout and I discovered just how much we missed living close to the ocean.

  3. I envy you! We did see the shuttle once when we stayed in Florida (we took the children to Disney). We were all in the pool at the time and everyone was looking up - we wondered why and then WOW there it was !

  6. I would love to visit the Space Center! What a fun day!

We live just a couple of hours from the ocean. We haven't gone in a couple of years now and I really miss it! Time for a little day trip I think! :)

  7. What a fun trip for your grandkids! And you! Believe it or not, I live about 3 hours south of the space center, but have never been there. I do however, live across the the ocean, so I DO go there!

  9. We live fairly close to the Space Center, but have never been to the museum. Will have to remedy that next year. But we can see all of the launches from our front yard. Enjoy the kids. Hope the rain lets up.
